News on the Homefront

I am so sporadic with my posts but I wanted to introduce several things my husband has been working on with his business. First is the Toof-inger Toothbrush ! It is a toothbrush that limits the force you use when brushing so you don’t damage your gums. They really help prevent overbrushing which almost all people do. He's also selling Hot and Cold Packs (Flexible hot and ice packs that are customizable, durable, and microwave and freezer safe) by the case to professionals. These flexible hot and cold packs are customizable, durable, and microwave and freezer safe. Finally, he is selling Custom Dental Signs . These are personalized metal signs that are for medical offices. They look very nice and are great for any medical establishment.

Life

I miss the days where I could blog because I had nothing else to do! Currently, I don't have Internet at home to save money so it's a little difficult to post things. But, since it's been reallllly slow at work today, I'm going to take a few minutes to update. I am still loving the house - it was tons of fun to decorate my own house for the first time. I had two trees this year ( one was themed blue and silver and the other was a "fun" tree with all of my other ornaments.) I quickly realized that everything I wanted to decorate couldn't happen this year. You can spend a lot of money on decorations. I am hoping to get some clearance shopping done this weekend and stock up for next year. I have my eye out for a nativity scene! Christmas day was rushed as we had three places to spend time (and eat!) We opened presents with my parents on Christmas morning then headed to Josh's mom's where we had omelets, opened gifts, and played cards. Then we headed back to my parents' house to eat and then we rushed off to Farmville where we spent time with Josh's dad and stepmom and all the siblings. We ate a lot and had a lot of fellowship but it was very hectic trying to get all those different places! My kitties got gifts from all three sets of "grandparents" - talk about spoiled. Speaking of the kittens, I am kinda in love with them. It is so much fun to have them! Life is flying by and I honestly can hardly believe that the end of 2012 is here. It has been an eventful year for me and 2013 will be filled with lots of wedding planning!

Playing Catch-Up

Wow...I am so inconsistent with the ole blog! Since I last wrote I have: Gotten engaged! My sweet fiance (love that!) proposed on May 6th on our three year anniversary. If we ever get over our disagreements about wedding size and other misc. things, we may get married ;) Seriously though, I'm hoping for next fall or winter. I've also....moved into my new home. Technically, it's Josh's house because he pays the mortgage, but I am very glad he let me move in rent-free. It has been SO nice to have my own space. It couldn't have come at a better time as I LOVE fall and have had so much fun decorating for the season. Can't wait for Advent/Christmas either!! Also, I've added two new additions - Muffin & Cupcake. They are so precious and I could just eat them up. Muffin likes to purr loudly and jump all over me at night which is annoying but I don't have the heart to kick his cute furry self out of my bed. He and his sister, Cupcake are getting fixed today as a matter of fact. I love love love them and having two fur babies to come home to makes my day so much brighter. I'm loving the fall weather and the cooler temperatures...that's about it for now! Happy weekend!

Hot

It is officially summertime. I am currently dying of a heat stroke. See y'all in the fall! Lol, but seriously....humidity and 90+ on May 3rd. Sometimes NC weather just makes me sad. This post has no substance but I just wanted to see if I could post from my iPhone:)

2011

Well, another year has gone down in the books! In 2011 I:

Finished up college and graduated in May
Started a grad program that I really enjoy
Ran my 1st (and only) 5k
Got a big girl job and a taste of the real world (it's not all it's cracked up to be)

I read my new years resolutions from last year and while I didn't lose a drop of weight like I would have liked to, I did have a good year and I believe I did love more deeply (another one of my resolutions)

In 2012, I want to choose happiness more often. Sometimes I can take a long time to get over things that make me angry and I want to concentrate on choosing joy more this year. Life is too short to stay caught up in stupid things. I also wouldn't mind being a LOT more healthy in 2012.

Mainly though, I just want to savor every single moment that life brings my way. I know 2012 will fly by just like 2011 did!

Happy new year, friends!! Make it everything you want it to be!

A Month of Being Thankful

I like the idea of counting a blessing a day for the month of November. Although I think it's a good idea to be thankful every day, it is also good to be intentional about remembering God's blessings during this month of Thanksgiving...

I'm going to catch up tonight on 11/11/11!:)

1- I'm thankful for a warm home & a loving family. I'm thankful that I have a place to call "home" where I am fully accepted, flaws and all.

2-I am thankful for the relationship I have with my sister and our lunch dates at ECU. I love her:)

3-I am thankful for my wonderful boyfriend. I can't say enough good things:)

4- I am thankful to have a job even when it sucks.

5- I am thankful for opportunities. Opportunities to get an education and opportunities to achieve goals.

6- I am thankful for the Mint Chocolate soymilk & peppermint whipped cream that my beloved Target now carries for the holiday season.

7- I am thankful for Tom the Toyota, my beautiful blue Corolla who gets me around everywhere.

8- I am thankful for amazing parents who serve as amazing role models and mentors in my life.

9- I am thankful for religious freedom & all other kinds of freedom I enjoy because I live in this country.

10. - I am thankful for the AMAZING fall colors & crisp air.

11. - I am thankful for a God who loves me even though I don't deserve it.

Stay tuned for Part 2!
